There are some excellent books about IPv6 suitable for beginners and experts alike. The major publishers including Amazon.com, Microsoft Press (distributed by O'Reilly) and Cisco Press have some great titles to add to your reference library. There are also some excellent free resources; a couple of those are presented below.

Deploying IPv6 Networks

Deploying IPv6 Networks"This book is a great technical book on current IPv6 technology state and direction. It covers many of the newer topics in IPv6 and provides good examples of how Cisco has implemented these. The diagrams, tables, and organization are all top-notch. The configuration examples, show command output and the debug output are very helpful. It is easy to read despite the very technical subject matter. The heavy use of diagrams/tables/config examples help technical people understand the material because they are more visually-oriented. The case studies at the end are very helpful for service providers and enterprises." (Amazon reader review)

Real World IPv6

real-world-ipv6Real World IPv6 is designed to introduce the concepts from the point of view of the network manager. IPv6 is a huge topic with deep technical aspects but the book focuses on introducing the key aspects that SysAdmins need to know to understand the implications and make the right decisions for the business. In drawing up the content, we've thought hard about what a typical DrayTek customer needs to know. The book deliberately avoids taking apart RFCs and protocols - things which you simply don't need to know in implementing IPv6. Instead, the book is concise, easily digestible and, importantly, up-to-date. In a constantly moving landscape, IPv6 practice and even the associated protocols have evolved.
